Smoking habbits in 2010 and beyondSmoking [whatever it is] has been a part of our culture for a very long time from tobacco to Marijuana. While tobacco sales have declined due to increased prices and taxation, it is not going anywhere. The act of smoking is so drilled into the smoker that it simply cannot be "erased" over night. Most smokers understand that smoking is bad for them and those around them however they simply cannot turn it off despite the growing negative evidence and higher prices. There are plenty of stop smoking options including Chantix (which has recently increased ad campaigns) Tobacco smoking is not a thing of the past as some people might want you to believe. The quitting process must begin with some revaluation of sort. For many it is either a realization that smoking may kill them or the actual passing of a known person, friend or relative. Once that idea is set, they start to think about quitting. Usually however, they set a date (as of next week, Ill quit). This is usually a sign that they are not going to do well. The best approach is to take action immediately. As soon as that realization hits, they should take the remaining cigarettes and throw them away. This shows a better start. Not only is getting rid of any remaining cigarettes necessary but also getting rid of matches or lighters. Most importantly, after the remaining cigarettes are discarded, DO NOT BUY ANYMORE! Many fail in this step since after some time, they think it will be OK to have one or two. The problem is there is not only one or two in a pack and that opens the door to start up again. What you can do is switch from tobacco to the e-cigarette right away. The Electronic cigarette will replace the tobacco cigarette and you can work slowly at getting even the e cig out of the way over some time. For the time being, you are not inhaling the chemicals and having the smell that a tobacco cigarette brings. |
