Second Hand Smoke

When the term "second hand smoke" became popular, it got lots of people thinking. Non smokers were being forced to inhale smoke passively and while that was always uncomfortable, it did not really become a health concern until a bit later. Once environmental tobacco smoke became a hot issue, people became more aware of their rights and more careful about space and public smoking.

Lets examine what the electric cigarette does and why it is so special. When the liquid nicotine is vaporized (atomized) it is turned into a fine mist (kind of like a perfume spray) but smaller. This vapor is then inhaled into the lungs where nicotine is delivered and then exhaled. The vapor like a perfume spray is seen briefly and quickly disappears. Tobacco smoke (and any other fire created smoke) does not behave this way. It lingers and floats about ready to be inhaled by others.

The major difference in electric cigarette vapor is it does not last long once it's been exposed to air and that also happens to be the beauty of the thing! I cannot suggest it's all positive but it does eliminate the second hand smoke problem all together.
